The Quanta Q-Plus C is the only device on the market to offer 3 true laser wavelengths including the 694 nm Q-Switched Ruby laser, the Q-Switched Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser and the Q-Switched Nd:YAG 532 nm laser. Optibeam technology offers a flat topped, square spot and homogenizing optics to equally distribute energy across the beam, providing more efficient laser treatment. These machines are best used for tattoo removal or removal of pigmented lesions such as birthmarks, skin discoloration or inflammatory acne. This laser can be used on all skin types.
A laser tattoo removal treatment uses laser energy to break up and disperse tattoo pigment safely through the bodies’ lymphatic system. Laser tattoo removal works by targeting pigment colors in the skin’s dermis, which lies between your outer layer of skin (epidermis) and the tissue beneath. The tattoo pigments absorb the laser’s beam and fragment. Your body then absorbs these fragments and eliminates them.
The Q-switch produces light pulses of extremely high peak power and is the most common type of laser used in tattoo removal. Several types of Q-switch lasers exist, and each targets a different color spectrum using different wavelengths. Because Q-switch lasers are so precise and intense, tattoo pigments fragment instantly, and the surrounding tissue is spared.
The number of treatments depends on the amount and type of ink used and how deeply it sits. You may see results immediately, more likely you’ll have to have several treatments before a difference shows. Additionally, it takes three to six weeks between treatments for your body to absorb the pigment residue. The healthier the body and lymph system the faster the removal may occur.
During your initial consultation, your technician will review with you the estimated number of treatments you may need. The number or treatments needed depends on varying factors including age of your tattoo, size, type, pigment depth (how heavy or light handed the artist was) and the health of the client. Your laser technician may also test the laser on your skin for reaction.
Typically post treatment, you may see slight redness, swelling, slight bleeding and blistering for several hours or days. Over the following weeks, the tattoo ink will continue to be broken down and carried away via the body’s lymphatic system. Typical reactions may include flaking, peeling or scabbing of the treated area. Post care instructions will be given, and include avoiding sun exposure, pools, saunas and hot tubs. Once the skin is completely healed you will be ready for your next visit. Typically visits are scheduled 6-8 weeks apart depending on the skin type and wavelength used. The goal is to keep the underlying skin as perfect and natural looking as possible.
